The Eco- and Bioart Research Network focuses on the broadly understood fields of eco- and bioart. It connects academics, artists and other practitioners interested in the subject matter with the aim to generate and nurture transversal dialogues focused on the ways in which bioart and other areas of contemporary art open up different/new modes of thinking and imagining human/nonhuman relationalities and futures.
So far the network has been involved in the organisation of the following events:
- Mini-symposium “Becoming with Alien Encounters and Speculative Storytelling”, co-organised by The Posthumanities Hub, Tema Genus Higher Seminar Series, and The Eco- and Bioart Research Network, 5 April 2018, Linköping.
- “Eco/Decolonial Arts: Open-ended Poetic/Philosophical Forays” workshop, hosted by the Intersectionality Research Project, The Eco- and Bioart Research Network, and GEXcel International Collegium for Advanced Transdisciplinary Gender Studies, 28-29 June 2017, Linköping.
- “Bioart and Postnatural Ecologies: Posthumanities for the Anthropocene” Symposium, hosted by the Posthumanities International Network and the Seed Box: A Mistra-Formas Environmental Humanities Collaboratory, 28 April 2017, Linköping.
